Published Volumes
See What They’ve Done To Our Sunrise by Kofi Anyidoho Anyidoho. (21 Nov. 2025)

Is a masterful new collection by celebrated poet-cantor Kofi Anyidoho, weaving lyrical textures from an “old loom” of ancestral memory, cultural nationalism, history, and social justice. Arranged in musical “movements,” the work is a meditation on loss, identity, hope, and rebirth. Rooted in Ewe oral traditions yet boldly contemporary, the collection affirms the enduring resilience of the human spirit. Available on Amazon Books
I Am A Woman, by Hodey Olympio (19 Nov. 2025)

In I Am A Woman, Hodey Olympio presents her debut collection and wields the power of expression as her response to all forms of personal, institutional and social micro persecutions. With it, she releases herself from how these have put her under considerable pressure as a young adult. It contains pieces from her wide ranging experiential perspectives of life; how she sees the world and herself. It gracefully carries expressions of a unique voice in poetic narrative. The book is new and emergent of a young woman’s transformative journey of becoming and navigating her gradual and tentative settling into the pleasures, discomforts, fights and flights, dreams and aspirations, associated with her own maturity in thought, self-belief, knowledge and self-discovery, understanding herself and the way to finding expression in her own creative use of words fit for self reflection, commenting on and the sharing of that journey of becoming with the rest of the world.
…of Everything I Am by Bernice Awotwe-Baidoo (20 Nov. 2024)

Bernice Baidoo senses she is, and constantly continues to become. An expression of her pain, her compassion, her love, care, confusion, constant new realisations, disappointments and disillusions in life, but also the huge capacity for hope in the face of despair, the unending capacity for resilience. All of these expressions are carried on a very sharp philosophical intelligence. I have chosen not to deliberate on any of the pieces you are about to read, and also not to go into a long exposé or summary on the anthology, I would rather you get on that journey unaided by this foreword. It is better that way, for you to chart your own course on this amazing journey into Bernice Awotwe-Baidoo’s world of words.
Mpatapo ‘Knot of Pacification, Reconciliation and Peace’ Edited by Gameli Tordzro and Sulikem Sika (25th May 2025)

In this fourth volume – ‘Mpatapo’ – of the Adinkra Anthology Series, we are exploring the concept of pacification and reconciliation as acts of tying conflict transformation knots of peace, peacemaking and peacekeeping. We are also extending the reach of our artistic exchange to include and engage with illustrative interpretations. In that regard, we work with the understanding that conflict is a human phenomenon for which an act of human endeavour is required to transform. That transformation is not a static state when attained, rather it is a dynamic one, of continuous interactive efforts between multiple parties; the creatives, the publishers and you, our readers and audiences! The poems, stories and illustrations in the volume attest to this understanding, from the various unique perspectives of all the contributors. We have done this work together.
‘Nkyinkyim, Twisting and Turning, We come Out Right‘ Edited by Gameli Tordzro and Maysura Asher Farzia (27 Oct. 2024)

The Volume III of the Adinkra Series Nkyinkyim draws on the Nkyinkyim Adinkra symbol for journeying through life’s twists and turn, its ups and downs, and how in that process we build unique strengths of what we become; we come out just right as unique individuals with a lot to offer the rest of the world. Each person is uniquely important, when we refrain from being overly judgemental of ourselves and others and rather, strive to enrich, and be enriched, support and anchor others on their life journeys. We want to allow our own challenges, life lessons, skills and experience be easily accessible, as resource to others on their own twists and turns so that they could turn easy and bend, rather than break when they must twist.
The world is riddled with myriads of challenges leading to heightened tension, depression, neurotic anxiety, and suicide. A poetry collection with poems of hope asserting that we will go through the twists and turns of life and come out scathed, but still alive is a gem. The Nkyinkyim anthology carries more than one hundred voices of talented poets from Ghana, Scotland, Nigeria, Lesotho, and Uganda, who address life’s journey through the twisting symbol. They delve into a torturous journey of life where pains and gains intertwine, yet the hope of coming out strong is foregrounded. The poets seem to call for versatility and resilience in the middle of life’s chaos as a means of survival. The book was co-edited by Dr Tordzro and Ms Asher Farzia.
Aya ‘The Resilient’ Edited by Gameli Tordzro and Maysura Asher Farzia (28th Dec. 2020)

This second volume of the Adinkra Poetry Series AYA ‘The Resilient’ features 150 works of 29 poets, themed on the Adinkra symbol for resilience, Aya.
Aya is the Adinkra symbol for endurance and resilience. Aya is depicted by the fern, a hardy plant that grows in difficult places. The symbol thus, is a reflection of the experience of many endured adversities, outlasting protracted difficulties and flourishing in spite of such adversities and protracted difficulties. The call to the volume invited interested poets to submit initial original work, drawing on the theme of Aya (resilience) to be selected to interact with other selected poets to respond to, and interact with each other’s writings for the Anthology. The volume builds on the Enrichment Interaction between 29 poets though exchanging writing. It also extends the opportunity to more poets in more countries including poets from Nigeria, Kenya, Scotland, and Ghana.
Aya The Resilient is co-edited by Gameli Tordzro and Maysura Asher Farzia with a foreword by Fiona Laker.
Funtunfunefu ‘Synched’ Edited by Gameli Tordzro (20th May 2019)

In these 101 poems we have used the creative resource and the philosophical values embedded in the ‘Adinkra’ symbol ‘Funtunfunefu’ (which depicts conjoined crocodiles – ‘Denkyem’ in Akan, – that share a stomach, and yet fight over food), to focus attention on how we are constantly engaged in unnecessary fights over what we all commonly own and ought to share as a global community. The theme of Funtunfunefu directs us to the awareness that there is always more than enough in the world to go around everyone without a scuffle. this international exchange between eight writers who are originally from Ghana, Uganda, Rwanda, England, Iran, Scotland and Nigeria, and now live in cities on three continents; in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Accra, Wellington and Gothenburg. The poetry in this volume connects people, places, and experiences through the warmth of sharing and understanding between the writers and their readers across the world. The poems are evocative heartfelt reflections on love, freedom resilience against all odds. Gameli Tordzro has assembled multiple poetic voices to recount struggles, linger over silences, capture flashes of anger, and transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. The texts lift the important values and qualities we cannot continue to underestimate; gratitude, kindness, curiosity, faith, friendship, hope. Throughout the 101 poems, we reflect on difference and sameness, on laughter and sorrow – on our entangled, synchronised lives that resembles the conjoined crocodiles ‘Denkyem Funtunfunefu’.
Agbetikpo Place and Man (28th May 2025)

This engaging debut anthology from Selasi Komla Adjor is a remarkable contribution to the Ghanaian, and by extension, African literature. It is a cultural treasure of substantial measure and a mark of resilience in the author’s creative endeavours. The book and the poems it contains is shaped by characters in dialogical interactions that explore themes of many different life experiences. Right from the onset, one’s attention is captured into witnessing a conversation between YoungMan and Death! The conversation explores for example, certain perceptions and realities about Death – as a cheat – in ‘Ku Ba Mi’; the transient nature of life, mirrored in the short time others would afford to mourn with you, and they gone, – in ‘Jolly Mourners’. Adjor touches on absurdities of certain practices in the tradition of professional mourners and how emotions and empathy are ripped out of grieving – to the career mourners, it is purely transactional.
Selasi Adjor taps into the richness of idiomatic expressions in his indigenous Eʋegbe (a language spoken in South-East Ghana, the Southern regions of Togo and Benin, and parts of Western Nigeria) as his creative resource for conceptualising the narrativity in the anthology. Cleverly, he draws on this indigenous linguistic resource in his titling, which he then translates into English. What he achieves is a sublime invitation to the reader for a linguistic excavation adventure.
Resonance, by Gameli Tordzro, with a foreword by Nayram Afi Agbodzi (11th May 2024)

Resonance is Gameli Tordzro’s exploration of the poetic expression of the resonances of life in the form of certain new understandings that bring instant clarity from situation to situation. There are poems here written from insight, inviting reframing mindsets, giving hope and encouragement. There are others presented as advice, consolation, admonishing, and support. By and large, part of the anthology can be seen as Tordzro’s state of mind, emotional and psychological becoming. The collection has a foreword by Nayram Afi Agbodzi.
Speaking Beyond by Gameli Tordzro with a foreword by Maysura Asher Farzia (10th July 2021)

Speaking Beyond is the first collection of Gameli Tordzro’s poems spanning the 1980s to the 2000s, interspaced with stories that chart a combination of factual narratives of his life experience and the imaginary realities of life.
The book is a poetic insight into Tordzro’s life in Ghana and Scotland and documents instances of challenge, and deep reflections on life as a gift, and life as interaction, exploration, growth and becoming.
…andiamo, by Gameli Tordzro and Bernice Awotwe-Baidoo with a foreword by Selasi Komla Adjor

in this poetic conversation, Gameli Tordzro and Bernice Awotwe-Baidoo chose to have a cross-generational conversation with an unusual freedom of expression. They write to heal from multiple personal challenges characterised by a phase of transition they are separately going through.
Andiamo! is not just a poetry collection; it is a living conversation, a dance of words across two generations, geographies, and life experiences. In these pages, you will encounter two voices that echo and respond to each other with candour, tenderness, and courage. This anthology springs from a shared commitment to write through life’s transitions, to wrestle with its uncertainties, and to celebrate its fleeting beauty.
Gameli and Bernice invite us into a space where poetry becomes more than art; it becomes therapy, dialogue, and resistance. Their collaboration is a testament to the power of mentorship and mutuality: a Gen Z poet and a seasoned artist-scholar weaving verses that bridge age, culture, and time. Here, love is not shy, vulnerability is not weakness, and silence is never empty. Every poem is a footprint on the sands of memory, a ripple in the waters of ancestral wisdom, a spark of resilience against despair.
